Wilton Police said today that a resident recently reported receiving a phone call in which the number was "spoofed" to appear to be from the Wilton Police Department.
Wilton Police warn, "The caller was soliciting donations on behalf of the State Police. Please do not fall for this scam, the Wilton Police Department does not engage in the solicitation of donations by phone. Just hang up."
