Wilton Police Bid Farewell to Longest Active Member of Department, Detective Kip Tarrant

Today Wilton Police bid farewell to the longest active member of the Wilton Police Department, Detective Kip Tarrant, as he heads into retirement.

Detective Tarrant has been with WPD since 1980, completing nearly 42 years of dedicated service to the Wilton community.

Known by most as "Kip the Cop," his last 17 years of service have been in the role of detective.  Any major case in the Town of Wilton during that time period, you could be certain that Detective Tarrant had a role in its outcome.  Culminating in 2017 when he received the Department's Officer of the Year Award, Detective Tarrant's hard work is evidenced by his countless service awards.  Full of energy and quick to build rapport, these are some of the traits that led to Detective Tarrant's successes that span over a nearly 42 year career.

Please join us in wishing "Kip the Cop" a happy, healthy, and relaxing retirement.
