Tour Wilton Police Headquarters this Saturday, November 13

If you missed Wilton Police Department's tour in October, there's another opportunity to visit headquarters. Head to the Department this Saturday, November 13, 2021 between 9 am and 12 pm.

Police explain that the tours are being offered in conjunction with the work of the Police-Town Hall Building Committee that was charged with studying the deficiencies and needs of the police headquarters. The committee subsequently made a recommendation to the Board of Selectmen for a new headquarters in front of the existing police building.

Wilton Police Department was built in 1974 for a police force of fewer than thirty officers. Today, there are forty-five officers and four full-time civilian employees. Police say that the infrastructure is obsolete and degrading requiring constant maintenance and repairs.

The Board of Selectmen is expected to recommend a plan to the voters at a special town meeting in early 2022.

The committee encourages residents to take advantage of the tours and to learn about the building's challenges firsthand.
