Wilton Police Welcome New Officer Luis Llano!

On January 18, 2022, Luis Llano was sworn in as a Wilton Police Officer. Officer Llano will be attending the Connecticut Police Academy in Meriden starting on January 21, 2022. The current academy lasts a little over 26 weeks and will be a mix of virtual and onsite learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Officer Llano is a recent graduate of Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. There he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. Luis also did his college internship with the Newtown Police Department. As an intern, he reviewed 500+ body-worn camera incidents as part of a partnership project with Sacred Heart University and Newtown Police Department.
 
Officer Llano is following in his father Luis Llano Sr.'s footsteps, who has been a Police Officer with Farmingdale State College for the past 23 years and in law enforcement for over 26 years.
