The 7th Annual Are You Dense? MusicFest happens on Saturday June 20 at the historic Palace Theater in Waterbury. The doors open at 6:00 p.m.
This year’s Are You Dense MusicFest features a line-up of phenomenal performers including headliner and Waterbury-native Kenny James. A highly sought after singer, songwriter, actor and entertainer, James had an unprecedented 13 wins on the hit show Star Search, before recording the award-winning album Target and performing in venues across the globe.
Stamford–native Marion Meadows, the most recognized soprano saxophonist in contemporary jazz, will also electrify the crowd with his unique infusion of old school funk, jazz, rock and pop. Meadows will appear with fellow legends Arti Dixson (drums), Joe Melotti (keyboard), Brian Keane (guitar) and James Cammack (bass).
A Twist of Lime will also perform with John Devito singing smooth Sinatra, and Sybil Ann Haggard singing standards along with Howard Hill (bass) Greg Butko (sax) Ted Angelone (guitar) Doug Schlink (keyboard) and Joe Cappello (drums).
Also scheduled to perform are Leo Ingalam who will be featured during the pre-show raffle/ silent auction and Deena Penn who will performs a powerful musical interpretation
VIP TICKET HOLDERS are invited to the post-performance VIPink Meet and Greet Reception serving refreshments in Mezzanine with Special Guest Artist Michael Coppola.
Former Connecticut Governor Jodi Rell will also be honored with the Are You Dense Champion Award for being the first Governor to sign a breast density reporting bill.
Are You Dense Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit breast cancer organization with a mission to educate the public about the impact of dense breast tissue on missed, delayed and advanced-stage breast cancer. Are You Dense Inc. was founded by Woodbury resident Nancy Capello, PhD after her diagnosis of late stage breast cancer through ultrasound following years of normal mammograms.
