Regional School District 14 Ranked Number 105 in CT School’s Accountability Scorecard

Overall State Accountability Results Improve In Connecticut Schools

The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) released the 2017-18 results from the Next Generation Accountability System and have reported that The state’s overall accountability index increased from 73.1 in 2015-16 and 73.2 in 2016-17 to 74.9 in 2017-18.

Following are selected scores for Regional School District 14:

  • English-Language-Arts (all students):  92.34%
  • English-Language-Arts (high needs students):  78.74%
  • Math (all students):  83.10%
  • Math (high needs students): 68.93%
  • Chronic Absenteeism (all students):  85.38%
  • Chronic Absenteeism (high needs students):  57.04%
  • 4-year Graduation:  100.00%
  • Postsecondary Entrance:  100.00%
  • Physical Fitness:  35.33%
  • Arts Access:  28.40%

This system takes a comprehensive look at both school and district performance based on a set of 12 indicators including academic achievement and growth, absenteeism, grade-level readiness, graduation, physical fitness and the arts. According to CSDE, the indicators help tell the story of how well a school is preparing its students for success in college, careers, and life. The system even moves beyond test scores and graduation rates and instead, provides a holistic multi factor perspective of the district and school performance while tracing a student’s growth over time.
