Get out and vote in next Tuesday’s school budget referendum and then go treat yourself for fulfilling your civic duty courtesy of some local merchants!
On Tuesday, May 5, more than 20 local businesses in Woodbury and Bethlehem will be offering “Voting Day Discounts” to residents in both towns who vote in the Region 14 School Budget Referendum.
The Voting Day Discount initiative is an effort to promote successful participation in this year’s school budget vote. It was organized by a group of community members from Woodbury and Bethlehem who thought that a similar successful program used in neighboring Region 15 school district would be a perfect fit here.
“This idea came from another school district that has been doing this promotion for several years,” said Woodbury resident Jen Higgins, one of the organizers of the initiative who helped seek out business willing to discount goods or services to those residents who vote. “As our first time doing this, we went to as many places as we could. We are so lucky to have so many local businesses participate. A huge thank you to all of them for helping to promote voter participation!”
The polls on May 5 will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bethlehem Town Hall and the Woodbury Senior Community Center. The following merchants are participating in the Voting Day Discount Program on Tuesday, May 5th. Restrictions May Apply. Mention “I Voted Today” and receive your discount at:
