Bulk Trash Schedule Changes

During this challenging period, even with our reduced workforce, the Refuse & Recycling Department is trying to continue the service of Bulk Trash Collection for our residents. Nevertheless, our crews are faced with overwhelming amounts of bulk trash.

Therefore, we must, once again, revise the upcoming collection schedule:

Section 2: crews began the collection this past Monday, April 6 – and will continue, even into next week;

Section 3: rescheduled - to start on Monday, April 20th;

Please note that the collection of Bulk Trash in the Condominium & Apartment complexes has been rescheduled:

                    Complex “A” will now be on Tuesday, May 5th
                    Complex “B” on Wednesday, May 6th
                    Complex “C” on Thursday, May 7th

Section 4: rescheduled - to start on Monday, May 11th

Next week, April 13th – 17th, in addition to finishing the bulk trash collection in Section 2, crews in the Refuse & Recycling Department will be picking up Leaf Bags & Tied Bundles of Branches only on your recycling day. Please note that we must limit the collection to no more than 12 Leaf Bags and four (4) bundles of tied branches per household.

As a reminder, the Organic Yard Waste Facility is open for Yorktown residents to drop off grass clippings, leaves, branches and logs in their own non-commercial vehicles.

Proper source separation is extremely important and required for “Weekly Recycling” and for Bulk Trash collections.  We encourage everyone to review the rules & regulations in our brochure that was mailed in February, as well as on the town’s website: www.yorktownny.org/refuserecycling
