Wu Chi-Tsung: Synchronicity
Wu Chi-Tsung: Synchronicity, the innovative Taiwanese artist's first solo museum exhibition, will focus on Wu's recent Cyano-Collage Series, which seamlessly incorporates Eastern aesthetics with collage and photographic processes. A meditative video installation in the main galleries and an immersive installation in the project gallery will provide further examples of Wu's expansive practice.
The Bluest of Blues
Learn about and experiment with cyanotypes (a photographic printing process using paper and light) in the Pollack Family Learning Center this summer. Original art from the enchanting picture book The Bluest of Blues, written and illustrated by Fiona Robinson, will be on view along with hands-on activities related to cyanotypes, collage art, and nature-themed projects.

Artist Talk with Wu Chi-Tsung
July 9
Renowned artist Wu Chi-Tsung joins Executive Director Michelle Yun Mapplethorpe for an in-depth discussion around his dynamic practice. Examples from the artist's Cyano-Collage series and other iconic works are currently on view in the KMA's exhibition Wu Chi-Tsung: Synchronicity. Wu will elaborate on the Cyano-Collage Series' origins and inspirations as well as its relationship to his artistic practice more broadly.
Free with Museum admission.
Family Day: Shades of Blue
July 16
Join us for a day of creative art projects centered around the theme of blue. Experiment with the art of cyanotype, create blue-themed assemblages, draw nature-inspired illustrations with blue materials, and paint blue-toned landscapes. Author and illustrator Fiona Robinson will be on site to lead a unique "Blue Portrait Collage" activity using materials inspired by her book, The Bluest of Blues.
Members: Free. Non-members: Adults $12. Seniors, students, and children (12 and under) $6.

In-depth art-making workshops for children ages 6-12 are offered each Wednesday with unique materials, themes, and projects inspired by our current exhibitions.
$50 members, $60 non-member per class. All four for $175 members, $215 non-members.
Craft and Connect Adult Art Workshop: Cyanotypes
August 3
Inspired by the artworks on view in Wu Chi-Tsung: Synchronicity, this adult art-making workshop introduces the materials and techniques of cyanotype. Before the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to preview the exhibition and enjoy wine and light refreshments.
All experience levels welcome. Members $45. Non-members $50. Includes refreshments and materials.
Summer Social with Jonah Bokaer
August 12
Mark your calendar for a special summer evening event in the Museum's Marilyn M. Simpson Sculpture Garden. Enjoy drinks, food, and an immersive dance experience performed by award-winning choreographer and media artist Jonah Bokaer and his company.

Clouds Stretching for a Thousand Miles: The Influence of Chinese Landscape Painting on Contemporary Art

Join independent curator Susan L. Beningson, artist, curator, and art historian Arnold Chang for a panel discussion with Executive Director Michelle Yun Mapplethorpe to consider how the genre of traditional Chinese painting has been integrated into contemporary art practices.
