Still Time to Form a Team for Local Cancer Walk

Support Connection, Inc., a not-for-profit organization offering free support services to people affected by breast and ovarian cancer, announces there’s still time to form a Team for their 25th Annual Support-A-Walk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer. The Support-A-Walk is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019 (rain or shine) at FDR Park, Route 202, Yorktown Heights, NY.

The Support-A-Walk was founded twenty five years ago by local residents. It is held to bring attention to the needs of people living with breast and ovarian cancer, and to raise funds for Support Connection’s free support services for those living with these diseases. Each year, thousands of people take part in this spirited, uplifting event. More than 9,000 people attended last year.

Participants complete a 3-mile walk, often in honor of loved ones – a celebration of life and a tribute to those affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Families, friends, co-workers and teams of walkers are invited to walk together as a Team. Individuals are also welcome. Donations are accepted from participants as well as those who are unable to attend.

Teams are a great way for participants to increase their contribution and share Support Connection’s message. Forming a Team is as simple as asking friends and family members to fundraise along with you. A Team can have 2 members or 200 members! Teams can be formed “online” via Support Connection’s online fundraising platform, or “offline” by collecting cash or checks. Even those who can’t attend can raise funds and be part of a Team.
