Dealing with Cancer and COVID-19, An Open Discussion

Support Connection, Inc. announces a free program open to people nationwide who have or have had breast, ovarian or gynecological cancer: “Dealing with Cancer and COVID-19, An Open Discussion” will be offered on April 13, from 1-2 pm (NY time). Pre-registration is required. To register, call Support Connection, 914-962-6402 or 800-532-4290.

Coping with cancer is stressful enough under the best of circumstances. Coping with cancer in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis is a challenge none of us were prepared for.

We are all figuring out how to navigate this uncharted territory. There are so many new questions: How to handle medical appointments? How to cope with the isolation and loneliness? What are some self-care tools that can be used while at home?

As in any difficult situation, talking with others, and sharing resources and coping tips, can be invaluable. Since  we are all social-distancing, Support Connection is offering  this open discussion group by toll-free teleconference. You can call from home to connect with others facing similar challenges.

This is not an educational program, but rather a discussion group, led by a Support Connection Peer Counselor, where concerns and information can be exchanged. Please join the conversation as we discuss our common worries, share our ideas, and help one another deal with these new and unexpected issues.
