CoveCare Center Receives Grant from United Way of Westchester and Putnam

CoveCare Center is honored to be a recipient of the first round of grants made by United Way of Westchester and Putnam to local nonprofit organizations who are providing care to those impacted by COVID-19.

Noting an unprecedented need throughout the community, United Way donated a total of $120,000 to organizations throughout the two counties. Since 1997, CoveCare Center has provided mental health, substance use, and supportive services for adults, children, families, and seniors throughout the Lower Hudson Valley. In mid-March, CoveCare shifted to offering telehealth services to those in need.

Over the past two months, the agency has held more than 7580 virtual appointments, including evaluations and assessments; doctor and nurse visits; individual and group therapy; and peer support sessions. The funds from United Way will support the growing need CoveCare is seeing for telehealth services in its treatment and senior outreach programs and allow the agency to purchase additional equipment and tele-health software.

“Feelings of isolation, anxiety, depression, and fear are heightened during this challenging time, leading to our community needing more support now and for the foreseeable future,” stated Eric A. Toth, CEO of CoveCare Center. “The funds from United Way are so appreciated at this time and will allow us to expand our telehealth services and reach even more community members in need.” If you are able to support CoveCare Center, please send an email to development@covecarecenter.org.As a nonprofit organization, we rely on the generosity of our community members to continue to offer the services so many of our neighbors need at this time. CoveCare Center is currently accepting new clients in all of their programs. Please call 845.225.2700 or send an email to info@covecarecenter.org for more information.
