Hudson River Financial FCU Helps More than 100 Community Members Securely Discard Documents at 2019 Shred Fest

2019 Shred Fest Event Featured Free Food, Live Music, and Performances from Cortlandt School of Performing Arts

Hudson River Financial Federal Credit Union proudly hosted its annual Shred Fest on Saturday, May 11th, which helped more than one hundred community members securely discard personal documents free of charge and get information on how to safeguard their information. In addition to the free secure document shredding, participants were treated to live music and free giveaways from 100.7 WHUD Radio, musical performances from students at the Cortlandt School of Performing Arts, special offers from Enterprise Car Sales, and information from MADD New York and the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital program at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. Select participants were also treated to free food from POW! Burger Yorktown’s Food Truck.

“We were thrilled to have such a great turnout for our annual Shred Fest” said Thomas J. Powers President and CEO of Hudson River Financial FCU. “Identity protection is an important of financial health and well-being, and to be able to offer our community free secure document shredding along with highlighting local businesses and providing fun activities made this year’s Shred Fest a wonderful event for all involved.”

Hudson River Financial FCU thanks all of its partners – including Enterprise Car Sales, 100.7 WHUD, the Cortlandt School of Performing Arts, POW! Burger Yorktown, MADD New York, Children’s Miracle Network, and Sprint – for helping to make Shred Fest a successful event for all. The Credit Union also extends its sincere appreciation for Assemblyman Kevin Byrne and Yorktown Supervisor Ilan Gilbert for attending the event and meeting with members of the community.
