Westchester Women Speak Out

Westchester Women Speak Out
Thursday, November 7 at 7:00pm

In honor of next year’s 100th anniversary of women’s vote in the US, this presentation pays homage to women with a connection to Westchester who used their voices to advocate for change. Their speeches and words contributed powerfully to social, political, and humanitarian causes. Dana Rubin is a consultant and advocate for women’s public speech and voice. Among the women she’ll feature are Sojourner Truth, Inez Milholland, Crystal Eastman, Margaret Sanger, Clare Boothe Luce, and Lorraine Hansberry. Dana’s talk will focus on their stories, their ambition, and the impact they made — drawing on speeches from the Speaking While Female Speech Bank, an online collection of historic and contemporary speeches by women. Dana will also discuss speaking opportunities for women and give tips on how you can make your voice heard. This event is designed for adults and teens. Register online.
