The Super Bowl Presentation at the Somers Library

The Super Bowl is much more than a football game, and as you may know, it is the only sports event that impacts every community in the United States. But did you know that the Super Bowl rose out of the civil rights movement, specifically the African American boycott of the AFL All Star Game in New Orleans? Evan Weiner, a veteran sports broadcaster, will take us on a journey from the birth of the Super Bowl to talking about the halftime shows and everything in between, including how the famed football game got its name. Please register on our online calendar here or call 914-232-5717.

Our programs are funded by the Friends of the Somers Library through your donations. Thanks for your support!
