Grand Central Terminal East Side Escalators have reopened; West Side Escalators to Close today for Replacement

On Saturday, February 22, the newly replaced east side escalators connecting the upper and lower levels of Grand Central Terminal, were reopened. On Monday, February 24, the west side escalators in Grand Central Terminal, will close for replacement. They are scheduled to reopen the first Quarter of 2021.


During this time, the west side bathrooms, located below the escalators, will be closed every night from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning. Alternatively, customers should use the south side lower level bathrooms located between Shake Shack and Tri-Tip Grill restaurants.
