Maloney to hold Press Conference this morning regarding Moving Forward Act Passage

On THURSDAY July 9th at 11:00AM, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) will host a press conference in New Windsor to celebrate the passage of the Moving Forward Act, a major infrastructure package that will send billions of dollars to New York over the next five years, jumpstarting critical infrastructure and transportation projects in the Hudson Valley, and creating good-paying jobs.

Rep. Maloney will be joined by Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus.

Rep. Maloney’s bill, the Bridge Investment Act, was included in the Moving Forward Act. This bill will invest $28 billion to repair America’s 47,000+ structurally-deficient bridges. In New York’s 18th Congressional District alone, over 11 percent of bridges – 190 total – are in poor condition, and require major improvements.

The press conference will be held in New Windsor, near a structurally-deficient bridge that is crossed 24,000 times a day. The bridge, which crosses Moodna Creek, was built in 1932 and is currently rated in “poor” condition by the Federal Highway Administration. Bridges rated in “poor” condition are still safe travel over but require significant rehabilitation and repairs.

Mask use is strictly required, and social distancing will be practiced.
