Yorktown Chamber The President’s Column January 2020

Yorktown Chamber of Commerce President's Column as published in the January 2020 Newsletter:

Let me open this column by wishing you all a very healthy, happy and prosperous New Year! Now that we made it successfully to 2020 it’s time to start planning. As we end 2019 let me extend my thanks to our entire membership, the Board of Directors and our office staff for their work and support. Together we have been able to bring the Chamber to new levels of success.

For those of you who attended the Chamber’s Annual Holiday Get Together on December 9th at Novecento Wood Burning Kitchen and Bar, I hope you had a great time. On behalf of the Chamber we extend our thanks to Barbara Delgaltini and Vincent Gaudio for their wonderful hospitality.

On Tuesday, December 31, 2019 the Chamber in conjunction with the town of Yorktown held its 4th Annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop at the intersection of Commerce Street and Veterans Road. A DJ kicked off the festivities and announced the countdown of the ball’s descent at midnight followed by a fireworks extravaganza while fire pits kept us all warm. Hundreds of revelers turned out for this “great” party and I want to personally thank the Yorktown Volunteer Fire Company as well as the Yorktown Police Department for keeping all of us safe! I also want to thank Breslin Realty for sponsoring the fireworks display as well as Marc Anthony from The Pub for being our restaurant sponsor!

The Jilco Home, Lifestyle Expo will take place, once again, at the Jefferson Valley Mall on February 8, 2020. Contact the Chamber office at 914-245-4599 for sponsorship opportunities and exhibitor reservations. This is a great venue for small contractors interested in booking g projects for spring 2020. Please be sure to save the date on your calendar.

Congratulations to our newest Board members Roger Campos of PCSB and John Iorio of FunTime Amusements, Inc. Both are tremendous additions to our organization. I want to congratulate them for participating and witnessing the process of democracy right here in our Chamber.

This year we want and need our Board members to take control of their committees, generate revenue for the Chamber and get the general membership involved with Chamber activities.

See you all our next Breakfast Networking Meeting sponsored by Robison Oil on January 15, 2020 at 7:30 am at the Hill Blvd. Diner. (See flyer on page 9.) Guest speaker will be David Singer, CEO of Robison Oil who will speak on “Energy Concerns Today and Tomorrow”, one topic of interest among many will be the “Decommissioning of Indian Point, and how it Will Affect the Future Energy Demands for this Region.” There is no charge for this event and I hope many will attend.

Look for announcements about our upcoming 3rd Annual SpringFest in April! Thank you for all your support and trust that you have placed in this administration as we look forward to continued growth in 2020. I look forward to seeing everyone at all our 2020 functions. Here’s to a prosperous 2020 for us all!
