New York Online Virtual Electronic Library (NOVELNY)

The New York State Library is pleased to announce that the current collection of New York Online Virtual Electronic Library (NOVELNY) statewide e-resources will continue through the coming year (July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020), and these e-resources will also be extended for an additional year through June 30, 2021.
 
 
NOVELNY is an online virtual library connecting New Yorkers to 21st century information via libraries and library systems statewide and is supported with temporary federal Library Services and Technology Act funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). NOVELNY is an electronic resource access project that enables libraries across New York State to give their communities online access to the full text of thousands of journals, newspapers and other references.
 
The databases listed are freely available to over 5,900 public, school, academic and special libraries currently registered for NOVELNY and to individuals who are residents of New York State that visit www.novelnewyork.org 
 
Pending availability of funds, the following databases* will be available July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2021:

  • General Periodicals:
  • Academic OneFile with InfoTrac Collections
  • Expanded Academic ASAP with InfoTrac Collections
  • General OneFile with InfoTrac Collections General Reference Center Gold with InfoTrac Collections
  • Informe Académico
  • Elementary Level General Periodicals: Kids InfoBits
  • Secondary Level General Periodicals: Research in Context
  • Encyclopedia: Encyclopedia Britannica: Includes Britannica School, Britannica Academic and Britannica Escolar
  • Health: Health Reference Center Academic
  • Issues: Opposing Viewpoints in Context
  • Newspapers: InfoTrac Newsstand including New York State Newspapers
  • Technology: Computer Database
