Yorktown Chamber The President’s Column April 2019

I would like to start by saying Happy Easter and Happy Passover! Spring is finally here and the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce has new and exciting events planned.

We are anticipating that over 2,000 people of all ages will be attending the 2nd Annual Springfest on April 13 at the Yorktown Firehouse Carnival grounds. There will be live music and dance, activities for all ages and foods from all over the Hudson Valley. We urge you to attend and enjoy a fun- filled day!

We are pleased to announce that we have partnered once again with Furci’s Restaurant in their generous offer to donate 20% of their proceeds from 5-8pm on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 benefitting our Scholarship Fund. We look forward to awarding scholarships to deserving students at our Scholarship Awards Dinner in July where you will hopefully be attending as our guest.

We had an excellent turnout at our Business Social on March 26 at Furci’s Restaurant. It was great to see so many new faces attending. Pease look for notices of upcoming Business Socials and Business Empowerment Seminars.

Our 21 Annual Yorktown’s Best of. . .Awards Cocktail Reception is scheduled for Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Vittoria’Z on the Lake. This year’s honorees are: 2019 Business Person of the Year: Mary Fellbusch, Absolute Flooring; 2019 Business of the Year: Breslin Realty Development Corp. and 2019 Organization of the Year: Drug Crisis in our Backyard. In conjunction with this event we are preparing a virtual journal that will be displayed on screens at the event and will be available online throughout the year as a reference guide. We ask all of our members to attend this celebration and take out an ad.

Our first Power Luncheon of the year will take place on April 15 at Savannah & Co. where you will hear presentations from State Senator Pete Harckman, Westchester County Executive George Latimer, NY State Assemblyman Kevin Byrne and Yorktown Supervisor Ilan Gilbert followed by a Q&A. Please call the Chamber office to make reservations by April 12 – seating is limited.

It is hard to believe but it is that time again. The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Town of Yorktown, is excited to bring. .our 11th Annual Festival and Street Fair on Sunday, October 13, 2019! Vendor spaces and sponsorships go on sale in May. Please save the date and look for the announcement!

Once again I would like to thank the membership, sponsors, board of directors and our office staff for continuing to make this a great organization.
