Rotary's Project Prom A Success!

The first shopping day for the Rotary Prom Project went great! Over 400 dresses were collected throughout Putnam and Dutchess Counties, along with beautiful shoes and accessories.  Patterson Rotarians also donated makeup and nail art for the students to choose from. A number of students from Putnam and Dutchess high schools came through and left with up-cycled dresses, accessories, shoes, and makeup. The students and their friends and family had great fun trying on dresses and wow-ing the Rotary Club volunteers and committee members who were running the event.  The event committee even had a local seamstress who volunteered to help the students with their dress alterations once they picked their perfect fit.

Each student that came to the event was also entered into a raffle for a prom ticket for their school's prom. Each Rotary Club is chipping in to send one student to the prom for the school in their town.

Since we still have close to 300 dresses, we are coming back for round two on Sunday, April 28th from 12-3 pm at Studio Around the Corner in the village of Brewster.

We have so many dresses we are opening it to ANY high school junior or senior in the area. We have beautiful pieces, some are never worn and still have the tags attached! So save the date, share it with anyone who has a teen looking for a prom outfit and we’ll see you at the end of April!
