Young Artists Take Over the KMA Opening Feb 10

YOUNG ARTISTS 2019: A High School Art Exhibition

February 10 - March 3, 2019

Every year high school students from across the region are invited to take over the Katonah Museum of Art and produce the Young Artists exhibition. During this period the KMA is filled with their artistic energy and talents. The unique program gives creative students the opportunity to work within a professional museum setting. Over the course of several months they take on the roles of graphic designer, curator, exhibition designer, art installer and artist as they collaborate with KMA staff and volunteers to mount an impressive exhibition. In turn, the Museum benefits from their fresh ideas and innovative approach to the exhibition process.

Now in its 36th year, this exhibition celebrates young artists, their teachers and families. This year nearly 400 students from 40 schools in Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, and Fairfield counties are participating in Young Artists 2019. The Young Artists program exemplifies KMA’s dedication to providing dynamic museum education opportunities to its broad community and fostering the next generation of creative thinkers and artists.Opening Reception: Sunday, February, 10, 3:00 - 5:00 PM
