Rock It - an invitational exhibition featuring the innovative and eclectic work of Carmel artist Ed Dabrowski. The exhibit will feature large scale, recently completed mixed media works inspired by urban and graffiti art and will be on display from Saturday, August 3 through Sunday, August 18. The public is invited to the opening reception and meet the artist on Saturday, August 3 from 3-5pm as well as at each of the specified gallery hours: 12:30-4:30 Tuesday through Friday; 2-4pm Sundays, August 4, 11 and 18; and 2-4pm Saturdays, August 10 & 17; or by appointment. At 3pm on the closing day (Sun. 8/18) Mr. Dabrowski will present an art talk which will conclude with a Q & A. All gallery activities for this exhibit are open to the public and free of charge.
The Putnam Arts Council is a non-profit cultural organization chartered in 1963 by the NYS Dept. of Education for museum and educational purposes. The Council is housed in a renovated 1800’s barn, once the home of Chicago Tribune cartoonist, Bud Fisher, best known for the ever popular Mutt & Jeff. The Council presents, funds, and supports artists of all ages and interests and offers quality arts programs for the enrichment of area residents. The Council is supported with public funds from Putnam County and New York State and raises funds through its cultural programs, membership, events, fundraising efforts and through donations from the public and private sectors.
