Countdown to Camp

Every child looks forward to summer vacation when school schedules and homework give way to more time playing outside and having fun. And parents want to ensure their child has a safe and enriching place to be. For nearly 50 years, Green Chimneys Summer Camps have blended great camp traditions with dynamic outdoor experiences to create exciting and educational summers full of memories to last a lifetime.

Putnam County is home to some of the most spectacular features of New York State’s Hudson Valley region and Green Chimneys’ camp locations provide access to water, hiking trails, and scenic views.

Miles of open green space means ample room for sports and outdoor activities, as well as experiential learning at Clearpool Summer Camp in Carmel. Set on a beautiful forested campus, Clearpool offers endless hands-on nature and skill-building opportunities to help campers develop environmental awareness and new personal tools. The natural lake features a 30-foot waterfront for campers to splash, swim and boat.

Hillside Summer Camp in Brewster offers outdoor fun paired with unique farm and wildlife activities. Over 160 acres of natural beauty include a sandy canoe launch along the Great Swamp and the Green Chimneys Farm & Wildlife Center, where campers make furry and feathered friends with over 200 animals, including a pair of camels! And an indoor pool means swimming in almost any weather.

Campers are organized by age in co-ed groups led by caring, experienced staff from all over the world skilled in helping kids bond with others, discover great new talents, and they sure know how to organize a water balloon fight!

A full roster of traditional and unique activities includes sports, arts & crafts, nature study, boating and special theme days. Daily lunch and snack are included.
