With the arrival of March we start envisioning those refreshing spring days filled with activities and there is no shortage of them on the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce calendar. With the successful 2020 Jilco/Yorktown Chamber of Commerce Home, Lifestyle and Family show under our belt, we are off and running with a busy season of events. Firstly, look for the official announcement of our Yorktown Arts Counsel. We are working out the details of an official Town / Chamber partnership. This endeavor will allow us to promote and facilitate “Anything Arts” in and for our fine community for the benefit of our Town folk and Businesses. We are very excited, once again, to be working closely with The Town of Yorktown.

Our next three Business Socials will take place starting on Monday, March 16 at 6:00pm at the PCSB Bank newly located at 2002 Commerce Street in Yorktown Heights, followed on April 6, at 6:00pm at The Pub at 1927 Commerce Street and on May 4, we will celebrate Cinco de Mayo at the Four Seasons Wine & Spirits at 3333 Crompond Road.

Editor’s note:  Due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce is cancelling the Monday, March 16 Business Social at PCSB Bank. This event will be rescheduled.

All these events are member- free. Bring someone with you. Everybody is welcome! We are excited with the approaching 3rd Annul SpringFest on Saturday, April 25 on Commerce Street at Railroad Park in Yorktown Heights. Come and enjoy live music, a silent auction, a variety of food vendors and activities for all ages. There are various vendor and sponsor opportunities available. Please call the office for additional information. On Thursday, May 14, 2020 the Chamber will host “Yorktown’s Best of…Awards Cocktail Reception” at Vittoria’Z on the Lake in Jefferson Valley honoring the 2020 Business Person, Business and Organization of the Year. Please support us by encouraging all your friends to attend this fun- filled evening and take out a journal ad promoting your business or supporting our honorees.

Our scholarship program is up and running. Letters have gone out for donations and student nominations for this worthy program which will culminate in a Scholarship Awards Dinner in July. Please support our “Dining to Donate” program sponsored by participating restaurants. When they confirm the dates, they will be donating 20% of their proceeds to benefit our Scholarship Fund on that day. On the far horizon… We have an upcoming Camp Sunshine Baseball Fundraiser, “The Kids vs The Cops” on June 6, 2020 at the Legacy Baseball Field in Yorktown and it’s never too soon to announce that we are gearing up for our 12th Annual Yorktown Festival and Street Fair on October 11, 2020 right in the center of Yorktown. Look for all the exciting news coming soon! Sergio Esposito President
