Yorktown Police report the arrest of 44 year old Daniel R. Romero of 117 Dale Ave, Cortlandt Manor, NY, who is charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, and for using a handheld cell phone, a Traffic Infraction.
On January 30, 2019 at about 11:50 pm, Yorktown Police Officer Dipietrantonio was on routine patrol when he observed a white Toyota traveling East Bound on East Main Street, with the operator of said vehicle allegedly using a cell phone. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified via a NYS Driver's License. A routine driver's license inquiry revealed that the defendants operating privilege was allegedly suspended for failing to answer a summons out of the City of Peekskill, New York.
The defendant was arrested at the scene and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. He was released on $100 bail and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on February 28, 2019 at 6:00 pm.
