Mahopac Man Arrested for Cocaine & Marijuana possesion

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 38 year old Mahopac man, who is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, a Class "A" Misdemeanor and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a Violation. The defendant was additionally charged with Speed in Zone and Fail to Signal a Lane Change, both Traffic Infractions.

On March 2, 2019 at approximately 1:18 am, P.O. Battista was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle that was travelling above the posted speed limit and failed to use a turn signal.  A traffic stop was initiated and further investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of a quantity of cocaine and marijuana.  The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

The defendant was processed on the above charges and was released on $200 cash bail.  He is due back in the Yorktown Justice Court on April 2, 2019 at 6:00 pm.
