Yorktown Police Arrest Queens man for Grand Larceny

Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 34 year old Flushing, NY resident who is charged with Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor and Grand Larceny 4th Degree, a Class “E” Felony.
 
On March 12, 2019 at 2:42 PM, the Yorktown Police Department responded to the parking lot of 3535 Hill Blvd., Yorktown, NY to investigate the report of a broken car window and the theft of money from the car.  Yorktown Police Department Detectives responded and conducted an investigation. During the investigation the Detectives were able to develop information identifying a suspect.  On March 25, 2019 information was relayed to the NY State police and Croton PD that the suspect was in their jurisdiction where NYSP did locate and detain the suspect.  Yorktown Detectives responded to the NYSP Headquarters in Somers.  Through their investigation it is alleged the defendant did follow the victim from a nearby bank and when the victim exited his car and entered a building, the defendant did break the victim’s window to his car and steal $1700.00 cash.  The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing.
 
The defendant was processed at the Yorktown Police Department on the above charges and arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court by the Honorable Judge Lagonia.  The defendant was held on $10,000 cash bail and turned over the Westchester County Department of Corrections.  The defendant is due back in the Yorktown Justice Court on March 26th, 2019 at 6:00 PM.
