Darien Eagle Scout reconstructs bridge at at Olson Woods

We are immensely grateful to Darien High School (DHS) Senior and Senior Patrol Leader for Troop 53, Wade Flaherty, for spearheading the reconstruction of a bridge at Olson Woods earlier this month.

A frequent visitor to the preserve, Wade saw that the bridge needed repair and determined to replace it as his Eagle Scout project.

With the support of his fellow Scouts and parents, Wade led the team in removing the old bridge and installing a new one - complete with upgraded decking, walkway sections, railing, and anti-slip tape for added safety.

A heartfelt thank you to Wade and all of the Scouts for their dedication. Their efforts have made a huge improvement to this beautiful preserve. Come visit Olson Woods and see their work first-hand!

Visit Darien Land Trust https://darienlandtrust.org/
