Western Connecticut State University invites the public to attend and/or participate in its Midtown Coffeehouses held most Thursday evenings in the Wolves Den, located in the lower level of the university’s Midtown campus Student Center, 181 White Street in Danbury. The Coffeehouses include open mics from 8 - 10 p.m. (sign-ups start at 7:30 p.m.) and on some nights there are special performers. The events are free, and complimentary snacks and beverages are offered; donations are accepted.

Additionally, WCSU hosts its Best Darn Jazz Club in the Wolves Den, another event free to students, faculty/staff, alumni and the public. Along with live jazz music in an intimate, club-like setting, light snacks and a cash bar with wine and beer for those 21 and over are available. The next Best Darn Jazz Club event is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 11, at 8 - 10 p.m.
