Bronx River Parkway Closures Scheduled This Week in Scarsdale, Eastchester, & Greenburgh

BRONX RIVER PARKWAY CLOSURES SCHEDULED THIS WEEK

IN SCARSDALE, EASTCHESTER AND GREENBURGH

Work is part of the Crane Road Bridge Replacement Project

Motorists are advised that the ongoing bridge work will close portions of both the northbound and southbound Bronx River Parkway in the vicinity of Harney Road/Strathmore Road (Exit 10) and Crane Road (Exit 12) starting on Wednesday, December 10 and continuing through Monday, December 15.  All closures are weather permitting.

The closures are as follows:

  •          Wednesday, December 10, daytime closures between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
    •    Periodic 5-10 minute stoppages of both directions of the Bronx River Parkway will occur during the above hours to facilitate the movement of a crane across the roadway.
  •          Thursday, December 11 through Sunday, December 14, early morning closures between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
    •    Closure of both directions of the Bronx River Parkway between Exit 10, Harney/Strathmore Road and Exit 12, Crane Road.  This closure is necessary to remove steel floor beams and girders over the Metro-North Railroad tracks.  Northbound detour uses Harney Road to Scarsdale Avenue to East Parkway and re-entering the parkway at Crane Road.  Southbound detour uses East Parkway to Scarsdale Avenue to Harney Road to re-enter the parkway.
  •          Monday, December 15, daytime closures between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
    •    Periodic 5-10 minute stoppages of both directions of the Bronx River Parkway will occur during the above hours to facilitate the disassembly of the crane.

Electronic message signs will be used to alert motorists.
