Lawrence A. Mandelker Is Elected a Fellow of the New York State Bar Foundation

A Senior Partner at Kantor Davidoff in New York and a Resident of Katonah, Mandelker Joins an Elite Group Limited to Only 1% of New York Bar Association Members

Kantor Davidoff, a Manhattan law firm, announced today that its senior partner, Lawrence A. Mandelker, has been elected a Fellow of the New York Bar Foundation, one of the most prestigious distinctions that can be bestowed on an attorney in New York State. Limited to just 1% of New York State Bar Association members, the Fellows of the Foundation are chosen because they exemplify the profession’s core values and serve as stewards of the legal system.

Mr. Mandelker’s election as a Fellow also is a recognition of his outstanding professional achievement. A successful commercial litigator, an AV-rated attorney, and the subject of a biographical sketch in Who’s Who, Mr. Mandelker is also widely known to the public for his election law and government relations practice. He has represented numerous candidates for public office (among them Ed Koch, Rudolph Giuliani, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, and Michael Bloomberg) and both the New York State Democratic and Republican parties. He has also represented the presidential campaigns of Jimmy Carter, Gary Hart, Robert Dole and George W. Bush. A registered lobbyist in New York State and New York City he often counsels business entities and trade associations on complying with state and city lobbying laws.

The many contributions Mr. Mandelker has made in the legal field include his service as chair of the Committee on Character and Fitness for the 9th Judicial District, his active participation as both a member and chair of various bar association task forces and committees, and his former service as president of the New York University Law School’s Alumni Association, from which Mr. Mandelker received his Juris Doctor degree in 1968. He is widely respected for his keen legal mind, indomitable spirit, wise counsel, and sound judgment, which allow clients to understand, navigate, and resolve the most complex matters.

Mandelker said: “The New York Bar Foundation represents the highest ideals of our profession, and it strives to ensure that ‘justice for all’ is more than a slogan. My career has been so personally and professionally rewarding, I want to give back to the profession that has given me so much.”

In addition to earning his J.D. at New York University School of Law, Mr. Mandelker received a B.A. in history at Queens College of the City University of New York. He is a resident of Katonah, a hamlet in the Town of Lewisboro, New York, where he lives with his wife Carolyn B. Mandelker, president of Harrison Edwards, Inc., an award-winning public relations and marketing agency based in Armonk, New York.
