April 22 Keys to Unlocking Your Child’s PotentialPaula Prentis, LMSW

Bedford Hills resident Paula Prentis is an author and presents at national educational and parenting conferences on topics such as mental health, neuroscience and motivation. Unlocking a child’s potential involves many strategies such as providing choices, praising effort and supporting sparks. Sometimes it means stepping back to push through discomfort. When do you know what is best? What does the research say? Paula will walk you through several strategies to help you understand who your children are and how to best support their developing selves.

April 29 The Parent Whisperer-Sedef Orsel 

Join Sedef is an author, public speaker, educator and Certified Coach for Parents and Families. Sedef will help parents learn ways to implement effective and positive parenting strategies in a gentle, respectful and quiet way, in order words without resorting to screaming or yelling! Her insights will help parents encourage their children to be self-reliant, independent and responsible. Sedef and her family, including her two daughters live in Pound Ridge.

May 6 Taking Care of Yourself While Taking Care of Others-Linda Seaver, MPS LCAT

Linda is a therapist and lives in Bedford. She has been a popular participant in DAPC activities for years. In her caring manner, Linda will discuss the latest research about ways parents can take care of themselves while doing the challenging job of taking care of their families. Learn the value of implementing initiatives that are associated with rituals, music, sleep, exercise, time off, seeing close friends, hobbies and solitude. Bring your own thoughts and share them at this interactive workshop. You will leave this workshop feeling positive, energized, and renewed.
