Harvey Boys Tennis Wins First Match of Season

The reigning league champion Harvey boys tennis team got off on the right foot on a very cold, rainy day Wednesday, April 8, with an 8-1 victory against Christian Heritage School at Katonah Memorial Park.

Harvey, champions of the Housatonic Valley Athletic League (HVAL) for the past three years, looked impressive in its season opener.

Two juniors paved the way for the Cavaliers. Harvey’s #1 single player Alec Roslin cruised to a 10-2 victory.  Zach Goligoski, who stepped in at the #3 singles position, was also dominant in a 10-1 win. Also winning singles matches were junior Tyler Levy, sophomore Noah Kagan and freshman Alex McLean.

Coach Marty Bernstein, hoping his team can play for a fourth consecutive HVAL championship this year, was happy the team started the season in the win column. “It’s always exciting to win the opener. The team has worked hard preparing for this season, so starting with a win builds confidence.”

Harvey looks to continue its winning ways on Saturday in Litchfield, Conn. when the Cavaliers will battle league rival The Forman School.
