Forty of Westchester County’s up-and-coming business leaders recently received the 2015 “Rising Star” Award from The Business Council of Westchester. Among them is the smart and driven Jill Ortiz of Diamond Properties. An MBA expert in corporate finance analytics, financial reporting and accounting, Jill is more than just an impressive resume.
The desire to contribute, to lead, to be someone great has fueled Jill into her profession and helped her excel quickly. By the age of 33, Jill Oritz rose to the top and became Vice President of Finance and Accounting at Diamond Properties, leading the company to be one of the first to achieve the Westchester Green Business Certification. Her strategic business planning through brand development, financial analysis, and systems enhancement have proved essential to Diamond Properties’ success, and earned Jill a spot next to other top professionals.
The “Forty under Forty” event honored individuals in Westchester who are some of the finest young talents from various backgrounds. Although the selection process was competitive, Jill stood out from the pool of candidates as a true star. Winners were selected based on professional and/or entrepreneurial accomplishments, demonstrated leadership qualities and professional and/or business affiliations.

The winners received their Rising Star award during a ceremony at 800 Westchester Avenue, Rye Brook. The program is modeled after the national business recognition program “Forty under Forty” and Rising Stars is specifically designed to recognize individuals under the age of 40 who exemplify leadership, foresight and a vision for the future of Westchester County.
As a busy wife, mother of two boys (ages two and four), entrepreneur, and career woman at Diamond Properties, Jill successfully maintains a healthy work-life balance, and hopes to help other women and working moms do the same. A true “superwoman” who didn’t lose sight of what is important in life, Jill is a prime example of a hard working professional who gives back to others by helping them achieve their personal and professional goals.
