UJA-FEDERATION OF NEW YORK IN WESTCHESTER CELEBRATES COMMUNITY WITH SONG AND SUPPORT

More than 125 of UJA-Federation of New York’s most generous donors in Westchester joined together to celebrate community and the organization’s life-changing work on Monday, September 22, 2014. Broadway star Jarrod Spector, who rose to fame with a record 1,500 performances as Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys, entertained the group.

Spector was nominated for a Tony Award in the category of Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role as songwriting legend Barry Mann in Beautiful, The Carole King Musical, a role that earned him both Outer Critics Circle and Tony Award nominations.

The group also heard from Eric S. Goldstein, UJA-Federation’s new CEO, who had just returned from a trip to Israel and Ukraine to speak to members of those communities and see the work the organization supports there.

“Pacesetter gives us a chance to say thank you to our most generous donors, so please accept our deep gratitude for all you make possible,” said Joy Zelin of Larchmont, chair of UJA-Federation’s Westchester King David Society. “It’s our commitment that guarantees the safety net so many rely on — in Israel, in New York, and around the world.”

The evening took place at the home of Lois Kohn-Claar and Gary Claar of Scarsdale. Joy and Steven Zelin of Larchmont, chairs of UJA-Federation’s Westchester King David Society, chaired the event with Linda and Seth Plattus of Scarsdale and Debbie and Richard Yoken of Chappaqua, chairs of the Solomon Society.
