Katonah residents take heed! Earth Day is this Sunday, April 22! There are a host of events and celebrations taking place in and around Katonah that include outdoor concerts, local artisan exhibits, farmers’ markets, and community cleanup efforts - all dedicated toward bringing awareness to our environment and preserving our planet.
Just over the border in Ridgefield, you can shred your documents on Saturday!
Bring all your old receipts, bills, tax papers, bank statements, checks, etc. to be shredded by Winters Brothers mobile shred truck on Saturday from 9am to 1pm at 4 Danbury Road - parking lot (behind Starbucks). Funds raised by this event go toward Ridgefield Lion's Club initiatives, like those involving senior citizens and the RHS senior scholarship.
Cost is $10.00 per paper-box sized box.
Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970, empowering Earth dwellers to take action: coordinate community cleanup efforts, plant a tree and take heed of environmental sustainability. “Today, the fight for a clean environment continues with increasing urgency, as the ravages of climate change become more manifest every day,” The Earth Day Network explains.
