He is the winner of the 2019 American Pianists Awards, the Cole Porter Fellow of the American Pianists Association, and an Artist-in-Residence at the University of Indianapolis. The evening is part of the Moffly Media Evening of Arts, Wine, & Jazz Series. At age five, Skaggs picked up the mandolin and within a few years, he emerged as a prominent name in the country scene. Over the course of his 50-year career, Skaggs has written and recorded with progressive bluegrass acts such as J.D. Crowe & The New South and Country Gentlemen. In the past decade, he has been honored with inductions into the Gospel Music Association’s Gospel Music Hall of Fame and the Musicians Hall of Fame. The evening is part of the Mountain Dew Country & Bluegrass Series.
