2016-2017 BSCD Budget news: The Board of Education has adopted a proposed budget for the next school year, in the amount of $129,654,885. Those who have been following the long, difficult process will know that more than $4MM in reductions were necessary to get to this number. At a proposed tax levy increase of 3.82%, the budget will require a 60% majority vote to gain passage.

In addition, look for the "Budget Hearing Document" coming out April 28, and the special issue of "Dateline" soon to be mailed to every household. On May 4, 2016, at 7pm, the Board will hold a hearing on the proposed budget; voting takes place on May 17, 2016, from 7am-9pm. Also on May 17, three Board of Education seats will be subject to the public vote.

On Monday, May 2, the League of Women Voters will be hosting a Candidates Forum in the Fox Lane Middle School Little Theatre at 7:15 pm. Three seats up for election as follows:
