Summer Social with Jonah Bokaer on Saturday, August 12 from 6:00 - 8:30 PM
The KMA is excited to partner with award-winning choreographer and media artist Jonah Bokaer and his company, LMNOP Bakery, Folkways Wines, and Captain Lawrence Brewery for an exquisite evening that will delight all your senses. We invite you to an exciting live event under the stars at the Katonah Museum of Art on Saturday, August 12 from 6:00-8:30PM.
Please join us for The Metamorphoses, an immersive museum performance conceived by Jonah Bokaer Choreography, which responds to the KMA's architecture, designed by Edward Larrabee Barnes, and the landscape of the Marilyn M. Simpson Sculpture Garden. By mapping Ovid's celebrated epic structure onto museum space, dancers' bodies, the sensuality of the landscape, and a live format that is welcoming to guests, this bespoke summer program explores themes of disappearance, migration, water, forgotten peoples, and the ways in which ancient mythologies find new resonance in the present.
Attendees are invited to enjoy this special performance by reserving a table to enjoy delicacies created by the acclaimed LMNOP Bakery and accompanied by fine wines selected by Folkways Wines. Picnic boxes (with advance purchase), charcuterie baskets, and wines by the bottle or glass will also be available for purchase. Quantities are limited, so make your reservations now on our website so you don’t miss out!
The KMA galleries will be open, and guests are invited to view Wu Chi-Tsung: Synchronicity if you have not had a chance to experience Wu’s exquisite multimedia works in person.
We look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you to the KMA and sharing this fabulous experience together!
