National Police Week Statement From Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr.

“I would like to pause today to honor our brothers and sisters in all police agencies, especially those here in Westchester County, who made the ultimate sacrifice and died in the line of duty. During this National Police Week and always, we salute these brave men and women who gave their lives for the safety and protection of all of us.

As COVID-19 has upended all our lives our police officers are confronting it head on. Many are personally battling the virus but all of them continue to selflessly serve and protect us every day. We recognize their tireless efforts in keeping Westchester safe, especially during these challenging times. We are grateful and thank them for their service.

While memorial services honoring the fallen have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please join me in honoring them with your thoughts and gratitude.”
