Weir Farm National Historic Site is gearing up for the 2020 season, and is recruiting new volunteers to join our diverse team. Volunteering at Weir Farm is fun, it makes a difference, and it's easy to get started! 
 
Weir Farm National Historic Site is seeking friendly, reliable people interested in working with the public to provide the best possible experience to park visitors through the Volunteers-In-Parks (VIP) program.Hours are flexible and training and enrichment opportunities are provided, including a volunteer open house and new volunteer orientation coming up in April 2020.
 
The park is currently recruiting for the following positions: 
  • Studio Docent - Become a Studio Docent and introduce visitors from around the world to the creative workspaces of American masters - the Weir and Young Studios at Weir Farm National Historic Site! Docents staff the historic studios and engage in conversations with diverse groups of visitors during morning and afternoons shifts, Wednesday through Sunday, May through October. This opportunity is appropriate for volunteers age 18 and up.
  • Garden Gang - Join the Garden Gang team and enjoy time outdoors maintaining Weir Farm National Historic Site's historic gardens that are admired by over 40,000 visitors a year! Members of the Garden Gang meet weekly on Wednesdays or Saturdays and assist in preservation and maintenance of the parks historic gardens.  This opportunity is appropriate for volunteers age 15 and up.
  • Take Part in Art -  Great opportunity for teens! Volunteers run the wildly popular outdoor painting program on weekends, May through October. Duties include cleaning and stocking watercolor painting kits and providing basic information to visitors.This opportunity is appropriate for volunteers age 13 and up.
