Harvey’s Reno to Play for UMass Amherst

Drew Reno, a senior transfer at The Harvey School and a Cross River resident, signed a letter of intent Wednesday, Nov. 9, to play NCAA D1 lacrosse for UMass Amherst.

An attacker and four-year varsity player, Reno was one of the leading scorers for Choate last season with 40 goals and 30 assists. Reno, who will play for Harvey next spring, was named a Brine All-American and played for the Israeli National Team at the 2015 U-19 World Lacrosse Championships in Edinburgh, Scotland. She also represented the state of Connecticut at the 2016 US Lacrosse National Tournament.

Reno played club lacrosse for the CT Grizzlies under Darien High School coach Lisa Lindley. Next year she will join a UMass team that finished the 2016 season 20-2 and ranked #11 in the country, having beaten Princeton and Cornell in the opening rounds of the NCAA D1 lacrosse playoffs before eventually losing to national champion Maryland in the quarterfinals.
