As part of the library’s ongoing children’s programming, Drag Queen Story Hour is designed for kids ages 3-8 and lasts approximately 45 minutes. The event includes two to three children’s stories read by a drag queen trained by librarians, interspersed with children’s songs and movement activities, followed by a craft activity, and ending with a dance party.
This inaugural event will be hosted by Angel Elektra, a drag queen trained by children's librarians at both the Brooklyn Public Library and New York Public Library, who has been reading to children with DQSH since July 2017.
