South Salem Author and Financial Planning Legend Vern Hayden Has Joined Rightirement Wealth Partners; Becomes Columnist for International Business Times
South Salem author and financial planning legend Vern Hayden, CFP™ has joined Rightirement Wealth Partners, a fiduciary financial planning firm, as a financial planner. He has also become a columnist for International Business Times, one of the world's largest online news sources, receiving forty million unique visitors each month.
“I’m so incredibly fortunate to have joined forces with the “right team” at Rightirement Wealth Partners, Byrke Sestok, CFP™ and Bill Brancaccio, CFP™. Their financial planning tools, acumen and experience along with my knowledge over the years in financial planning is a winning combination for our clients, some of which have been with me for decades,” said Mr. Hayden.
“I’d been looking for a news outlet to share my financial knowledge and insights gleaned over my 50 plus years in the financial planning field and IBT was the perfect fit,” he commented on his new writing assignment.
Mr. Hayden has been a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) since 1978. He founded The Hudson Valley Chapter of the Financial Planning Association in 1987 and has been on the National Board of the FPA. In 1994 and 1995 he was Chairman of the College for Financial Planning, which created the CFP designation. He's also a founder of The National Endowment for Financial Education, which provides financial literacy and resources for the general public.
In 2021, the Connecticut FPA created the annual Vern Hayden Lifetime Achievement Award.
Vern Hayden was a fixture on financial television for years with weekly appearances on CNBC, Bloomberg and others. "I would get calls from people frightened about their finances. Many people don’t know what to do when markets go south and there’s volatility like we are seeking now. High inflation now, along with global instability have many people nervous. The main goal is to look long term, not to react to daily events and keep things in the proper context.”
His first book, "Money, Use It or Lose It - The Common Sense Process of Financial Planning" was published in 1980 and his second book, "Getting an Investing Game Plan: Creating It, Working it, Winning it," published by John Wiley in 2003.
A recent IBT piece, How do I Know You Won’t Steal My Money? is a provocative look at what investors should look for in selecting a financial planner and is the working title of his new book he is writing: https://www.ibtimes.com/how-do-i-know-you-wont-steal-my-money-3375710
