Harvey Offering Local Families Immersive Cultural Experience

The Harvey School in Katonah is offering local families an extraordinary opportunity to host a student from abroad on weekends and short holidays during this school year and experience a dynamic cultural exchange in their own homes.

High school students from Brazil, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and Thailand will be arriving soon to join Harvey’s International Student Program (ISP). They will live on campus and attend classes during the week and spend weekends and short holiday breaks in the homes of their host families living in Westchester, Putnam, and Fairfield counties.

Harvey pays the host family a stipend of $5,250 per student to cover costs incurred while hosting for the 32 weekends of the school year.

The hosting begins the week of September 16. The final weekend is June 2-4. During the winter holidays and the spring break in March, each two weeks long, international students return to their homes abroad.

Those interested in hosting a student from abroad should email Alex Lindquist at alindquist@harveyschool.org or call her at 914-232-3161, ext. 160. Only a few hosting opportunities remain. The deadline to apply is August 1.
