School's Out/Art's In at Katonah Museum of Art

Tuesday, April 4 – Friday, April 7
Workshops at 10:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:00 PM

Join teaching artists for unique collage and assemblage activities during spring break. New art materials, projects, and techniques are introduced each day.

April 4: Kusama-Inspired Aviary Collage. Collaged patterns, ink drawing, and collected bird images come together in this unique Kusama-inspired, mixed-media project.

April 5: Correspondence Collaging. A wide assortment of vintage paper materials will be on hand to create a correspondence collage that mixes words with images, like the work of artist Ray Johnson.

April 6: Shadow Box Assemblage. Like artist Joseph Cornell, make you’re your own miniature, dream-like world with found materials thoughtfully arranged within a box.

April 7: Polka Dot Take Over! Inspired by the work of Yayoi Kusama, create artworks that use mixed-media circles and dots in many surprising ways.

Registration recommended. Ages 3-8 with and adult; ages 9-12 can be dropped off. KMA Members: Child $6.00, Adult Free. Non-Members: Child $12.00, Adult $12. Seniors and non-participating Students 13 and over $6.00.
