Start your holiday season with the Ridgefield Guild of Artists. The theme of this year’s annual Festive Home event will be “Home for the Holidays”! Please join us at the preview celebration on Friday, November 20th which kick-offs the five-week event. The celebration is open to all for an entry fee of $20. Enjoy refreshments, music, raffle and more, along with the first peek at the holiday market. It is a great way to start the 2015 holiday shopping season and show your support for the Guild.
Eight local designers have paired up with Member artists to create holiday vignettes showcasing the many items for sale. Returning designers include: Molly Hirsch, Amanda Dranow and Rachel Belden of Ridgefield and Lisa Bartro and Briony Noome of Redding. New to Festive Home this year is Madelyne Gray and Joshua Fischer, both formerly of NYC but are now Ridgefield residents; and Andrea Romeo of Ridgefield.
Yedi Fresh is the Guild’s new artist-in-residence. “He will be our featured artist for Festive Home this year as we celebrate the start of Yedi’s journey with us,” says Pam Stoddart, Executive Director of RGOA. “Part of our mission is to establish an artist-in-residence program for an emerging or established artist. We are thrilled to have this talented cartoonist as our latest candidate.”
The holiday marketplace and fundraiser brings many shoppers to the charming, New England barn every year. Shoppers will find the galleries brimming with creative gift items such as unique hand-made jewelry, apparel and pillows as well as original artwork.
For over 40 years the Guild has worked to support, promote and inspire visual arts throughout our community. Funds raised at Festive Home are foundational to the mission and will drive future exhibitions, kids programs and art talks.
Expanded holiday hours are Tuesday – Sunday, 11am-5pm. Galleries will be closed November 25 and 26 for Thanksgiving. The barn is also available for private parties for local business groups and non-profits during off-hours. The guild is located at 34 Halpin Lane in Ridgefield.
